Q: Who is teaching this course?
A: Sheila Chutskoff is teaching the Business 101 course. Sheila is the co-founder and CEO of Oranj Fitness and a Master Yoga Instructor who teaches 25 hours of the 200hr Yoga Alliance Teacher Training. Sheila attended Royal Roads University in Victoria BC where she completed a Bachelors of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management. She also has a diploma in Management and Marketing, and a Plant Based Nutrition Certificate from Cornell University. For a more detailed bio on Sheila please see the bottom of this page.
Q: Can you tell me more details on how the trainings are run?
A: This is a 20-hour training that is run out of our Oranj Fitness studios that costs $325 CDN plus taxes. Your Business 101 workbook will be provided to you upon arrival. This course provides you with continuing education credits with Canfit Pro and 20 hours towards your 500hr Yoga Alliance certification.
In this course we discuss the basic terminology of business. We will review mock financial statements and learn how to strategically manage them. We will work as a group and create a mock cash flow statement and see if our business idea is viable. We will discuss the different marketing strategies and work on our own personal marketing plans. You will also be taught the difference between being a proprietor, partnership and a corporation. Lastly, Sheila will facilitate a goal setting session where you will be coached on how to create your idea life!
Q: Can you tell me more details on when the trainings are run?
A: This course is a two-day course that runs on Saturday from 9am – 7pm and Sunday from 9am – 5pm.
Q: Is there any prep work or pre-requisites I should do before the training?
A: No prep work or pre-requisites are required for this training. Bring a healthy snack for lunch and enough food to tie you over until the day is over. A vegan smoothie is provided for you in the afternoon, but please make sure you bring healthy, nutritious food to get you through the day.
If you would like to qualify for the continuing education credits with Canfit Pro, you will need to already be a certified fitness instructor or personal trainer. If you would like to qualify for the hours towards your 500hr Canadian Yoga Alliance certification, you must have a minimum of a 200hour Yoga certification.
Q: If I live out of town and am taking the course, is accommodation available for me?
A: We have excellent relationships with local hotels / motels if you’re needing accommodation while you’re in town, but the costs involved are not included in your training. If you are traveling from out of town and unfamiliar with the area, our local studios would be happy to provide you with suggestions on nice, safe places to stay nearby.
Q: Is there parking available for this training?
A: There is plenty of parking available within walking distance of the studio. Since you will be spending the day with us, we ask that you be mindful of leaving the spots closest to the front door for the guests coming in throughout the day to attend class.
Q: What time should I arrive for class?
A: Please make sure you arrive to class a minimum of 15 minutes early. This will ensure you have stored all your personal belongings and are set up on your mat and we can start on time! Being on time is an important value system for oranj and we take it very seriously. We respect you and your time, and we expect the same in return. This standard also applies when returning from breaks.
Q: Can you describe how my learning will be assessed/evaluated?
A: Before the weekend is over you will be given a set up to win review where you will be graded on the content that you learned.
Q: Will I be able to receive any continuing education credits upon completing this course?
A: Yes, upon receiving your certificate of completion for Business 101 you are eligible to receive 20 hours of continuing education credits with Canadian Yoga Alliance and canfitpro will recognize this training and award you 4 FIS, 4 PTS and 4HWL credits.

sheila chutskoff – business 101
Sheila is the co-founder and CEO of Oranj Fitness and a Master Yoga Instructor who teaches 25 hours of the 200hr Yoga Alliance Teacher Training. She was born and raised just outside of Nelson, British Columbia. Sheila attended Royal Roads University in Victoria BC where she completed a Bachelors of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management. She also has a diploma in Management and Marketing, and a Plant Based Nutrition Certificate from Cornell University. Sheila previously held the role of Regional Manager with Lululemon, where she helped grow the company from 4 to over 150 stores. In 2007, Sheila decided to venture out to achieve her dreams and opened her first Oranj Fitness in Kelowna, BC. Since then, the company has grown to 7 locations in Western Canada, with more to come.
Her true passion is seeing everyone around her succeed in life. Sheila is also a yoga instructor, public speaking guru and goal coach. In her day to day encounters with people, Sheila makes it clear how much it means to her that they succeed. As well as her professional responsibilities, Sheila is committed to giving back to the community. Sheila has been hosting the largest outdoor yoga charity event at her studios since 2008 where they raise funds for local charities. In 2014 Oranj Fitness founded Mats for Metta to make yoga more accessible to local communities. 200 hour Yoga Alliance Teacher Training Kaitlynn teaches 25 hours of Yoga and Physiology.
