At oranj in Fort McMurray, AB, we provide a wide mixture of group fitness, cycle and yoga classes. Our fitness classes range from Beginner Bootcamps all the way to HIIT training. We offer fitness classes taught in our hot room, and regular temperature classes. We offer strength training, cardio, overall body bootcamps, and classes for weight loss or muscle gain.
Our bootcamp classes range from 45 minutes – 60 minutes in length and taught by our world class fitness instructors. Our instructors are all certified in one or more of the following certifications – BCRPA Certification, Canfit Pro Certification, Ace Certification or AFLCA. We provide complimentary sweat towels, filtered water, and full amenity showers. Forgot your gear? No problem, we have a beautiful retail store full of an assortment of clothing brands for you. lululemon athletica, oranj custom and Z-Supply to name a few. We ask that you arrive a minimum of 15 minutes early for class so you can be ready to start on time. We also have a vegan superfood smoothie bar that you can pre order before class.
Below is a description of some of our more popular fitness and bootcamp classes. This does not include all the classes we offer at oranj. For the most up to date schedule of fitness, cycle and yoga classes go to our schedule page.
HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training. Traditional HIIT workouts do not exceed 30 minutes, however Oranj HIIT Bootcamps are 45min – 60 min in length. They include a safe, low intensity warm up, and blocks of HIIT exercises that vary in duration. We provide a lower intensity core section at the end of class and a cool down and stretch. Our HIIT Bootcamps are taught as a large group where everyone will do the same exercises and work in their individual stations. This class is suitable for all levels; however, due to this being a high intensity class where students are asked to perform in spurts of 100%, it is recommended that beginners pay close attention and follow the instructor’s modifications provided.
Oranj Tabata Bootcamp is a fusion of full body bootcamp and HIIT that utilizes Tabata interval training. Tabata training is one of the most popular forms of high-intensity interval training (HIIT). The differences between HIIT and Tabata are that rest and work periods in Tabata are shorter compared to HIIT, and Tabata pushes the limit on the percentage of your maximum heart rate. A Tabata set is high intensity full effort for 20 seconds of work followed by 10 seconds of recovery. This same exercise sequence is performed for 8 rounds totaling 4 minutes. This class is suitable for all levels. Beginners will be given modifications.
Full Body Pump
Oranj We’ll Show you Pump is an upbeat full body workout that uses high repetitions and light to moderate weighted exercises. Oranj Pump combines strength training and cardio flushes to give guests an overall workout. The beat of the music guides each strength block so all guests are working together to the choreographed beat. After each muscle group is worked we flush it out with cardio bursts. All levels welcome.
Oranj Barre classes mix elements of Pilates, dance, yoga and functional training into one upbeat full body workout. The moves are choreographed to motivating music and all students do the exercises as one large group. In each energizing and targeted workout, you’ll perform movements on the barre to slim and tone, or you’ll use exercise equipment such as mini-balls and small hand weights to sculpt your muscles on your exercise mats. This is a low intensity class and great for all levels.
Killer Abs and Ass
Oranj Killer Abs and Ass is a bootcamp style class targeting all glutes (ass) and core (abs). It incorporates strength exercises and cardio strength intervals. Abs and ass can be taught in two different ways, as a circuit, or as a large group with the same exercises. Come to this class ready to slim and tone these two isolated body parts. Be prepared to perform short cardio bursts between your exercises to help elevate your heart rate and flush out your muscles. All levels welcome.
