Our Anatomy 101 class is 8 hours in length that covers the following topics:

  • Introduction to the Skeletal System
  • Introduction to the Muscular System
  • Fundamentals of the Nervous System
  • Introduction to the Cardiovascular System
  • Benefits of Exercise on the Body

Whether you are a current instructor who wants to brush up on their anatomy and receive 4 continuing education credits, or you are interested in taking one of our other Oranj Fitness courses and don’t have the anatomy pre-requisites, this course is perfect for you. Students will leave our fun and intensive training confident on the basics of the skeletal, muscular, nervous and cardiovascular system.

Frequently Asked Questions about Oranj Fitness Anatomy 101 Training

 

Q: Who is teaching this course?

A: Kaitlynn Fleury is our Anatomy 101 instructor.   From 2008 – 2016 she instructed the advanced diploma program for Anatomy and Physiology at A.I.M. She currently freelances as an educator with a compendium of other classes such as therapeutic taping and hot stone massage. She is a massage therapist in Kelowna BC and also a Master Trainer for Oranj Fitness 200hr Yoga Alliance Teacher Training program where she teaches 25 hours of anatomy and physiology.  For a more detailed bio please visit the bottom of this section.

 

Q: Can you tell me more details on how the trainings are run?

A: This is a eight-hour training that is run out of our Oranj Fitness studios and costs $195 CDN plus taxes. Your anatomy workbook will be provided to you upon arrival. This course provides you with 4 continuing education credits with Canfit Pro and 8 hours continuing education credits towards your 500hr Yoga Alliance certification. In this course we sit on yoga mats in our group fitness rooms and discuss the basics of the skeletal, muscular, nervous and cardiovascular system. We will also review how exercise is beneficial for the body. Please wear layered and comfortable clothing. You are provided a thirty-minute lunch during this training so please bring snacks. Start times vary with this course so please see your local studio for details on dates and times.

 

Q: Is there any prep work I should do before the training?

A: No prep work is required for this training. Bring a healthy snack and wear comfortable clothing with layers.

 

Q: If I live out of town and am taking the course, is accommodation available for me?

A: We have excellent relationships with local hotels / motels if you’re needing accommodation while you’re in town, but the costs involved are not included in your training.  If you are traveling from out of town and unfamiliar with the area, our local studios would be happy to provide you with suggestions on nice, safe places to stay nearby.

 

Q: Is there parking available for this teacher training?


A:
There is plenty of parking available within walking distance of the studio. Since you will be spending the day with us, we ask that you be mindful of leaving the spots closest to the front door for the guests coming in throughout the day to attend class.

 

Q: What time should I arrive for class?

A: Please make sure you arrive to class a minimum of 15 minutes early. This will ensure you have stored all your personal belongings and are set up on your mat and we can start on time! Being on time is an important value system for oranj and we take it very seriously. We respect you and your time, and we expect the same in return. This standard also applies when returning from breaks.

 

Q: Can you describe how my learning will be assessed/evaluated?

A:  Upon completion of the course you will asked to take a set up to win review where you will be graded on the content learned over the weekend.

 

Q: Will I be able to receive any continuing education credits upon completing this course?

A:  Yes, upon receiving your certificate of completion for Anatomy 101 you are eligible to receive 8 hours of continuing education credits with Canadian Yoga Alliance and canfitpro will recognize this training and award you 4 FIS and 4 PTS credits.

Kaitlynn Fleury – Anatomy 101

Ever since childhood, Kaitlynn has been drawn to healing and had an affinity for sharing with and teaching others. Following her passion, in 2005 she earned her massage therapy diploma with honors from the Alberta Institute of Massage then founded her own company, Fluidity, shortly after. Her motto, “Heal. Love. Inspire,” reflects her sincerity, as well as her unique style and effective delivery – all of which have earned her a diverse and loyal clientele.

In 2008, Kaitlynn was approached by A.I.M to instruct anatomy and physiology and is currently teaching the advanced diploma program there. She also freelances as an educator with a compendium of other classes such as therapeutic taping and hot stone massage. Kaitlynn is also one of our Yoga Mater Trainers. In the Oranj Fitness 200 hour Yoga Alliance Teacher Training Kaitlynn teaches 25 hours of Yoga and Physiology.
