book a class with amara-joy
The name Amara-joy is translated to “Unfading joy” which is how people have described her, along with enthusiastic, free-spirited and understanding. If her life had a theme song it would without-a-doubt be “Third Eye” by Florence and the Machine. She is after all the “Queen of Peace”. She’s passionate about traveling, painting, music and of course Yoga!
Yoga came into her life at age nine from her yogi Aunty Brenda giving plane-friendly stretching tips at the airport. At the time she didn’t know this sparked a passion in her life forever! She enrolled and dedicated herself to weekly beginner classes at Mount Royal university in Calgary in 2008. She challenged herself to travel fifty-two countries in fifty-two weeks. She embraced the opportunity to practise Yoga all around the world … Slightly extending her trip ….by seven years! Her travels led her to completing her Australian Governmentally recognized live-in seven week intensive Yoga Teacher Training course (levels 1/2/4) in the beautiful Byron Bay, Australia in March 2015.
Mentally yoga has given her peace of mind, allowed her to breathe through obstacles and encouraged self-acceptance. Yoga has given her a new perspective on life, empowered her with a sense of tranquility and Allowed her to re-connect to the community. She feels yoga is a gift to teach and feels she has an obligation to share it. She’s so thankful for all her teachers and her family for continually teaching her how to live her best life!
